Account Manager

Hallam is an award-winning digital marketing agency, based in Nottingham, that helps brands thrive in a digital world. We partner with clients of all sizes across a range of sectors to deliver work that gets results, including international brands such as United Nations and Speedo. We have grown to employ more than 50 talented specialists with diverse experiences and broad skill sets. 


We are looking for an account manager to join our growing client services team! As an account manager at Hallam, you will be required to create long-term, trusting relationships with our clients and help them achieve their digital marketing goals. Your role will be to oversee and retain a portfolio of assigned accounts, develop new business from these accounts and ensure your accounts remain profitable. 



Core responsibilities


  • Managing a portfolio of clients through the entire customer journey, with the aim of building and retaining strong, long-lasting customer relationships 
  • Owning the client relationship and serving as the lead point of contact for matters specific to your accounts 
  • Leading on communication, both internally with the delivery teams and externally with the client
  • Developing trusted business partner relationships with key clients and customer stakeholders through a solid understanding of their industry trends and unique business challenges
  • Developing new business with existing clients and identifying areas of opportunity within your portfolio to meet the existing business sales target 
  • Working with the strategy and specialist teams to develop comprehensive client digital strategies and quarterly plans 
  • Orchestrating specialist digital teams to deliver high-quality work that meets or exceeds client expectations
  • Preparing performance reports for clients (monthly and quarterly)
  • Ownership over client issues, escalations or complaints 
  • Upholding Hallam’s high standards within the agency, with clients, and in a public-facing capacity


Experience and qualifications


  • 2-3 years of relevant work experience in an account management role, or similar
  • Industry experience with broad digital marketing knowledge
  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation abilities 
  • A proven track record in successful client and team relationship building
  • Strong professional communications skills with the ability to present and influence key stakeholders at all levels of an organisation, including executive and C-suite
  • Exceptional organisation, attention to detail and time management skills, enabling you to manage a broad portfolio of clients and a busy schedule
  • Enthusiasm and the confidence to own the role, and grow in a thriving agency
  • A team player who will be able to build positive internal relationships with the client services and delivery teams
  • Ability to adjust well to feedback and changing priorities
